Commentary: John 19:31-37

But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out.

Jesus on this feast of Your Sacred Heart, I want to imitate you more. I know I can’t possibly come close but even if in just one little way, I can give myself so much that I think there is nothing left. If I do this, I know you will grow my heart so that there will be more for me to give and still I won’t come close to all that you gave me on the cross. What area do you want more from me? How do you want me to empty myself today?

Resolution: Actively look for ways to give yourself to your husband and children with new energy today. Offer it to Jesus.
