Commentary: Mark 1:14-20
As he passed the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus, when you called me to be a mother, you called me to be a fisher of men as well. My motherhood is a net that you are asking me to use to draw not only my children, but all the other fish swimming around them, to be close to you. Help me remember that my net is as big as my heart. The closer I am to you, the bigger my heart.
