Commentary: Matthew 7:1-5
“Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye, while the wooden beam is in your eye?’ You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.”
Jesus, as a mother I frequently see my own vices showing up in my children’s behavior. While I am obliged to help them correct these short comings, it is also a reminder that the best thing I can do to help my children is to allow them to see me struggling to start over and improve when I sin.
Resolution: Find a time to go to confession in the coming week and tell your kids you are going. (Bring them with you if they are old enough)
How To:
Fold fitted sheets so they don’t look like they are just rolled into a ball!
