Commentary: Luke 21:1-4

He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”

Jesus, I know I protect my comfort and security. I want to give generously even when the math doesn’t work out and the time is short. It is so good for my children to see that generosity isn’t giving from our excesses but rather from where it means we do with a little less. I want them to see that the surest sign of gratitude is generosity with all that we have.
