Commentary: Luke 7:1-10
And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed.
Jesus, I know I don’t deserve your constant care and attention but you give it freely anyway. Help me to not take it for granted and to ask you with the confident faith of the centurion for the healing of each ailment of the soul for myself, my husband and my children.
Monday Menus
One of my kids favorites for a quick and easy hot weekday breakfast is crockpot oatmeal. There are lots of recipes online but I did some experimenting and this is what works for me:
3 cups rolled old fashioned oats
6 cups almond milk
3 peeled and chopped apples
Salt, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste (I just give a generous sprinkling of all three)
Spray the crockpot with a Pam cooking spray, mix the ingredients, set for low for 3 hours and then it will be on keep warm until breakfast. If you don’t have a timer on your crockpot, you may need to find a different recipe--perhaps one that uses steel cut oats with a longer cook time!
