Commentary: John 13: 16-20
When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.
Jesus, help me be a confident witness to the truth, not because of my own abilities but because I am doing Your will. You are the one who is speaking, not me. Help me to give my children a “holy superiority complex”- not because they are better than anyone else, but because they are seeking You. We are Jesus’ messenger in our friendships. Help me to teach them through my example, to do what is right and to say what is needed, without worrying what other people will think.
Resolution: Call a friend who might need an encouraging word today.
