Commentary: Matthew 11:11-15

Jesus said to the crowds: “Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”

Jesus, the reason John was great was precisely because he embraced his mission to prepare the world for you. His humility was what made him so effective. As a mother, my mission is not so different: to prepare my children to have an intimate relationship with you. Give me the humility to always see and act with that mission in mind. What I want really is of no account if what is happening in my family is serving to help them grow in sanctity.
