Commentary: Mark 4: 21-25

Jesus said to his disciples, “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed, and not to be placed on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light.

Jesus, you speak today of being accountable for the gifts you have given me. One of my pet peeves is going into the pantry and discovering containers of empty things on the shelves—an empty cereal box or jar of peanut butter. Lord, I don’t want to just look like your apostle but really I’m just taking up space…Help me to be truly useful! Show me the places in my life where I have left your graces unused.
