Commentary: Matthew 5: 20-26
“Therefore, if you bring a gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother and then come and offer your gift.”
Jesus, you remind me that my relationships with others also affects my relationship with you. Help me to treat even people that I don’t see eye to eye with as the child of God they are or that you at least want them to be. I want to put past grievances behind me by having the courage and the love to apologize and forgive as needed, especially when it comes to my husband and children.
Resolution: Look for a loving way to smooth over any disagreements that have occurred this week.
