Commentary: Luke 1: 57-66, 80
So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called. He asked for a tablet and wrote, “John is his name, “ and all were amazed. Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God.
Jesus, the birth of John the Baptist tells me so much about how you want me to think about my role as a mother and parent. Through John’s birth, Elizabeth and Zechariah, learned that anything is possible for God. They also learned that the only way they could be the parents You wanted them to be was by accepting every detail of God’s plan, no matter how counter intuitive it might be. Help me to trust that You are truly all powerful and that even the little details of my life make sense in the light of Your plan.
