Commentary: Mark: 12: 28-34

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, “Which is the first of all the commandments?” Jesus replied, “The first is this: “Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Jesus, if I really take these commandments seriously as a mother, there is no room for “me time”. While this sounds scary in theory, don’t I already feel more free and at peace when I dispel that little voice that chains me to comfort seeking and indulgence?

Resolution: Make (or buy) a treat for your husband today.

Pro Tip

For the Car: keep diapers, wipes, extra charger, extra outfit for each kid and a hand held mini broom and dust pan to sweep out dirt each week. Also keep a toddler potty seat in the trunk. Is a lifesaver!
