Commentary: Luke 7:36-50
Now there was a sinful woman in the city who learned that he was at table in the house of the Pharisee. Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment, she stood behind him at his feet weeping and began to bathe his feet with her tears.
Jesus, give me the urgency of this sinful woman to be forgiven when I offend you. She approached you with expensive oil in a place where she knew she would be scrutinized in order to seek mercy. Help me to be an example to my children to seek out the first possible opportunity to get to confession, never being comfortable with even smaller sins that interfere with my relationship with you.
Thankful Thursdays
I am grateful for the many opportunities to get to the sacraments of confession and Eucharist. Help me not to take them for granted!
