Commentary: Luke 10: 1-12

He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few, so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go on your way, behold I am sending you like lambs among wolves.”

Jesus, Sometimes I think I focus too much on the wolves that you speak of and fail to consider the fruits of the harvest. I know that if I stay close to you, the wolves cannot hurt me. Help me to raise my children to be laborers for the harvest and at the same time, wise enough to recognize and avoid the wolves. Give me a generous heart that sees the urgency of the work to be done and help me transmit that urgency to my children.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a teenaged son who still greets me with a kiss on the cheek without hesitation.
