Commentary: Mark 5: 21-43
While he was still speaking, people from the synagogue official’s house arrived and said, “Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?” Disregarding the message that was reported, Jesus said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid; just have faith.”
Jesus, when my heart is on the line, it does take courage to have faith. Help me abandon my whole life into your loving hands. I want to have the kind of faith that does not emotionally prepare for “worst-case scenarios”. I want to really and truly believe that whatever happens is for the best. Even if the “bad” thing happens, even when death comes, as it will for us all, Christ conquered death and even that will work for the good.
