Commentary: Mark 7:1-13

You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition.

Jesus, you correct the attitude of the scribes and Pharisees because they scold Jesus’ disciples for failing to live certain laws while they themselves disregard others. As a parent, I am bound to correct and guide my children but help me to always do so in a spirit of charity. Help me to when possible, wait to speak to them in private and not let my corrections be a knee-jerk reaction to something that irritates me.
