Commentary: John 16:5-11

“But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.”

Jesus, while I can’t see you like the apostles did, I am never alone. If I seek to receive you in the sacraments and seek your friendship by talking to you throughout the day, I will never miss you. The Holy Spirit will inspire me with a great peace and certainty about what my children and husband need most from me. I can’t be the mother you want me to be without your help!

Resolution: Pray a simple morning offering to Our Lord today, uniting your struggles to the Holy Mass and asking the Holy Spirit to inspire you with Wisdom.

Pro Tip: Beat the Boss To Work

There is something magical about waking up before the kids, having a cup of coffee in a quiet house and having some time to pray and maybe even exercise before starting the day. The trick is doing what it takes to get to bed at a reasonable hour, but it’s totally worth it!
