Commentary: Luke 11:37-41

“Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.”

Jesus, you see it all. You see what I want others to see and you see all of the failures big and small that are hidden in the recesses of my heart. Help me to make the parts of my life that no one will ever see, as beautiful as the public parts, because then I know I will have really loved you.
