Commentary 9: 38-40

Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us.”

Jesus, it is so easy to forget that any good that I want to do on this earth is totally dependent on my unity to you. Help me put down any temptations to pride that make me believe I have done anything worthwhile without you. What a gift I can endow upon my children if I instill in them, the confidence of knowing “They can do all things in Him who strengthens them.”
