Commentary: Mark 12:18-27

Jesus said to them, “Are you not misled because you do not know scriptures or the power of God? When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven.”

Jesus, I so frequently fall into the trap of limiting You with my own human abilities. If only I could remember your perfect power…and that you want the best for me! Help me to abandon all of the little logistics of my day and the dealings with my children to your hands. With you, all of those things that fall short of the mark—the bombed test, the party they weren’t invited to, the over cooked dinner, all work for a higher purpose. Yes, even those can help my little ones grow closer to you.

Resolution: Read five minutes from the Bible today.
