Commentary: John 15: 1-8

I am the vine and you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.

Jesus, when I hold my baby, I can see he needs me for everything. Without my help he can’t eat, he can’t dress or even get into bed. Help me remember that I need you that much. You aren’t scandalized by my weakness. You are relieved when I finally accept all the help you offer me, through your words in scripture, your forgiveness in Confession and your very self in the Eucharist.

Resolution: Pray, “I can do all things in Him, who strengthens me.”
