John 19: 25-27 (Our Lady of Sorrows)
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Behold your son.”
As a mother, I can relate to many of your struggles Mary. Whether or not I have lost a child, I watch my children grow and struggle. I have had that strike of fear in my heart when I couldn’t find them or knew they were in danger. Mary, help me to see the sorrows of motherhood as you did, in the light of your Son’s triumph over sin and death and sadness.
